How It All Begun

‘The Bus Yard’ was born in 2020 during lockdown when Antony Smith and Darren Ryder of ‘Oh So British’ joined forces with Andrew Laird who had requested their help to revive a Local Pub and they teamed up to offer food and drink to keep the pub open due to restriction rules. It was a great success!

The three entrepreneurs sparked a new working relationship and found new ideas to create a new type of food, drink and entertainment business within the Liverpool City. Antony and Darren brought their wealth of catering and event knowledge along with their following of street food fans and Andy had extensive experience in bar management, DJ and entertainment industry.

Their crazy idea of converting a double decker bus into a bar and destination venue soon became a reality and when an offer they couldn’t refuse came their way they produced two converted buses into separate bars

Their hard work and determination and relentless motivation came to fruition when a piolet scheme was agreed with Sefton Council for a popup spot on Crosby Marina. After some trepidation from the locals the site and ‘The Bus Yard’ was a huge hit and a three year tender was secured. With the blue print and a great hype around them ‘The Bus Yard’ has expanded to operate on Liverpool ONE Chavasse Park, Cains Brewery Village, Aintree Grand National, Haydock Park Race Course and Reminisce Festival.

‘The Bus Yard’ team is forever growing and the partners are constantly looking forward to new innovative ideas for growth and expansion to deliver their amazing concept throughout the city region, wanting to revolutionize the way public eat, drink and socialise. Watch this space
